A former goddess of motherhood and divine order, she defied the will of the other gods when she sought to shelter souls that were never meant to be born. For this transgression, she was cast into Niflheim, where she was condemned to birth there endlessly.
Unborn spirits stir restlessly within her ever-swollen belly, and with each cycle, she gives birth to spectral children--echoes of souls that never fully form, that vanish into the mist as soon as they enter this nightmare.
No matter how many she brings forth, they are still taken by the darkness, leaving her with nothing but the aching emptiness of a mother who can never hold her children.
